Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread
I like what I read in his interview today. This is just the English part of the interview.
You seemed to be very relaxed on the court. Do you feel better on grass than on other surfaces?
I like to play on grass, I had some great matches here. You won’t believe that, when you see how far I got in the previous years, you must not look on my previous results, but my game was pretty good. I like the support from the crowd. It’s very nice to be here and to play on the courts.
Do you usually need a fork while you’re playing on grass?
No, usually not. But today I definitely needed one. One side of the court lies in the shade all the time, so I would have slipped on this side without removing the grass from the shoe sole.
Are you satisfied with your overall performance?
Well, if you’ve won a match on grass 6:3, 6:2 there wouldn’t be much things you did wrong. I felt pretty comfortable and, of course, I’m satisfied. But next round I have to deal with a Swede in each case, and I already lost against both. Thus I’m warned.
What goal do you have for Halle?
My main goal is to show pretty good and successful tennis. I already arrived last Friday in Halle. So I were able to practice on grass for some more days. I didn’t want to fail once again in the first round. All the times I survived this magic first round this year, I played successful. Afterwards I found my play und got more confident.
