Rainer d. Vacek (another Czech) 6-3 3-6 6-3. *phew*
In second set, he had a chance to break at 1-1 but didn't and ended up broken in his next service game (pretty much his pattern these days) and lost the 2nd set. At 2-1 third set, he had the chance to break again and thank god he made it.
he got a decent first round-draw (Paul Capdeville)and had to play Federer in round2, but at least a good chance to win a round at a GS and gain some points
GL Rainer
Rainer will also play doubles with Kohlmann. Their 1st round opponents are Kas (GER) and Peya (AUT). The match is winnable but 2nd round will be tough, very likely vs 4th seed Damm and Paes.
And I already had hope that he would win it after grabbing the 3rd set tiebreak From where did I take this confidence in him? No surprise I was wrong at the end Maybe I counted on the old fitness factor a bit too much.
BTW, on TV they also mentioned that Rainer has quite bad herpes and had to take medicaments. I heard herpes infection can be also a sign of a weak immune system. Somebody knows if Alfonso recently was carrying herpes or kissed the wrong guy(s)

I think confidence is more a factor than fitness. :awww:

ok i had a think and come to the conclusion he just made a simple mistake and i totally forgive him. Im thinking of changing my username to -Schuettlers herpes-rule-no.1 as a reminder of his infidelity toward me so he won't do it again
haha, Kiefer must have had something much worse than herpes, judging how bad he played against Davydenko
BTW, who knows about a New York broker who is a good friend of Rainer? Yesterday during Kohlschreiber's match, they showed a dark-skinned guy (around 30 to 40 years) who was sitting in the first rows and the commentator said "Here on the left in the background, you see a good friend of Rainer Schüttler, a broker here in New York. He is also supporting some of the other German players and Rainer even stayed at his house about four or five years ago during the US Open."
I don't even know Rainer made the main draw in Beijing
Losing to Cilic is not a real surprise for me and he even made 3 sets.
He has better luck in doubles with Kiefer today. Winning 6-4 6-1 vs a pair of Chinese players (whom you will have a hard time finding their rankings. )
