Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

I dont think a win in the 2nd Round aof a challenger will give him that much confidence as he pretends to get from that! It was not an impressive scoreline and I doubt he will win this tournament. Then skipping surfaces again and playing Wimbledon.....

Im sorry to be so harsh, but its my opinion and I think it was wrong to play Braunschweig.

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

The scoreline is definitely not impressive but winning tight matches is one thing that Rainer hardly achieved since 2004. I don't expect Rainer winning a challenger but he needs match confidence and winning matches is the best way to achieve. I can't see Rainer will go further in Wimbledon if he played in either grass tournament this week, I honestly don't. He will return to clay after Wimbledon anyway

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

Every match is important for Rainers self-confidence. Today, he played a very tough match. He had matchpoints against himself and won the match nevertheless.
I think, it is not the most important one where he wins, but that he wins matches

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

I think he dont need wins - he needs to compete with the top people. Playing against a number 1000 of the world and against players outside Top100 is useless I think

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

Rainer's playing Max Mirnyi in the first round at Wimbledon... IMO that is not a good draw... But maybe our friend can surprise us the way he did when beating Nalbandian in Halle!

Good luck to ...

Good luck Alfonso! Even he's not playing, he will probably practising somewhere and you have a better chance of catching him shirtless

edit: Ouch Alfonso, Rainer is in the bottom half of the draw and will likely play on Tuesday.

Rainer is playing doubles with Waske in Wimbledon

They have it tough vs Arthurs and Hanley in 1st match though.
