Re: Andi Beck

7/6 4/6 2/6 against Delgado for his comeback, he says on his website it was a pretty average performance, but he doesn't mention any physical struggle, just a lack of match practice.
He's playing Sunrise next week.

Re: Andi Beck

Bad loss to Robert again, but he says on his website that the very important thing to him is that his arm held up during those 3 US tournaments and he can now prepare properly for the clay season.

Re: Andi Beck

He has a new trainer, an Italian, Michele Tellini. Never heard of him.

One break down against Nalby already, but he isn't playing that badly so far.

Edit: Of course he is playing atrocious tennis now since I had just posted it isn't looking that bad. ^^ 17 UE in the first set and DF on SP.

Re: Andi Beck

I only saw the first set of his singles match and I was nicely surprised to see he had won because I wasn't expecting that at all! It's not like Istomin was playing out of this mind. He saved 2 MP in the process.
Andi also had called for the physio when I left, I thought there was something wrong with his foot, but he probably only needed a new bandage then. He looked fine in doubles.

I watched the whole doubles match (with Kiwi against Chardy-Robert). He really lost his focus at the end after some bad calls. He was right, the chair umpire sucked, but he should have gotten over it.
For the rest, Andi had some bad errors, but Kiwi was not flawless either. It was an enjoyable match, though.
He made me laugh because he kept congratulating everybody - always saying "sehr gut, Kiwi!" in a very serious tone, he was also praising the Frenchies when they played a good shot, he looked so nice - too nice! It's not Kiwi's style, to say the least, so they made a funny team together.

It really didn't last long, is it a record? That post was written during Monte-Carlo, even Monfils holds a little bit longer!
He says on his website he changed again and he's back with Arriens.

He'll play the Challenger of Biella next week.

Re: Andi Beck

Pathetic choke today at *5-4 30-0 in the 4th set. Then he served 2 DFs in the tiebreak and a lot more DFs in the 5th set.

Re: Andi Beck

yeah, just pathetic, he is mentally too weak, not the first time that he wsates such chances, just bad, really should have won that!

Re: Andi Beck

Any news on him? He retired in MOns in early October because of his lower back and hasn't played since. Was it that serious, or just ended the year out of precaution?

Re: Andi Beck

Last two years have been very rough on Andreas. Hopefully he can get 100% healthy for 2011 and start showing the talent that got him up in the top 50.
