Re: Philipp Petzschner

It was clear they wouldn't get in together, this should be the only reason.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Puschkin, who is in Monte-Carlo, asked if there was any injury concern when he pulled out of Houston, but he's fine. It was merely precautionary, he was just feeling tired after the long US tourney and needed a break.

And she saw the beginning of his match today, had to leave to watch another player then, but she says it was quite interesting and Philipp was using his slice nicely.
So it sounds like it was a decent performance and he didn't only win because GGL was poor.

Great wins for Philipp this week. He's my favourite German player by far

Keep going!

Re: Philipp Petzschner

All the pics of their match are pics of Jürgen, as usual.

Revenge time after the beatdown in Indian Wells!

Re: Philipp Petzschner

I remember Melzer was whining about the great slice of Lopez in Vienna 2008. Maybe the real slice was also a problem for him today? It's a bit strange on clay though.

It looks really good now. He has already 440 points in 2010 and maybe he can get some more wins to get seeded in Wimbledon.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

"Es war sehr schwer, weil wir uns sehr gut kennen. Wir haben den gleichen Konditionstrainer und sind praktisch das ganze Jahr über zusammen, aber dieses Mal haben wir beide nicht gut gespielt", zeigte sich Petzschner trotz des Sieges selbstkritisch.

He says they both played like crap! It was tough because they know each other so well, they have the same condition trainer and spend almost the whole year together.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

When I arrived, Philipp had just broken Juergen at the beginning of the first set, when I waited to get on the court his coach, whom I had adressed on Truc's behalf the day before yesterday, said "hallo" to me. I asked about the score and he said 7-6, he was rather embarrassed shen I asked for whom. For him it was clear that his guy had been winning.

Well, Juergen destroyed himself, breaking a raquet and cursing a lot, and whenevr he got to bp or even deuce, Philipp came up with an ace, a deserved win 6-2 at the end.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Thanks! At least he saved the BP in a solid way, your report already sounds a little bit better about his performance than his statement.

I have seen worse matches than this one, maybe Philipp is just very harsh on himself.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

He usually isn't harsh on himself, rather the opposite imo.

He isn't wearing his white tee-shirt anymore??
