Re: Philipp Petzschner

He is 5th best entry in Newport.

That's only relevant if he doesn't get nominated for DC. At the moment, I have the feeling that Kohlschreiber, Kiefer, Zverev and Beck will get nominated. If I was captain, I would put Philipp in instead of Beck though.

According to this article, Kas/Petzschner are playing the grass court season together. I think their last tournament was the US Open QF.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Just like in Melbourne. Again a relatively open draw and they lose so early. They were 4-2 up in the second set. Looks like they really got killed on their second serves.

Halle (w/Peya)
s-Hertogebosch (w/Kas)
Wimbledon
Wimbledon
Newport (or Davis Cup)
Stuttgart

He plays with Kas in Rosmalen, but not Halle. "Mit Petzschner bestreitet der Ex-Burghauser jetzt auch die anstehende Rasen-Saison."

Re: Philipp Petzschner

1R: Petzschner vs Verdasco

In the 2nd round against a qualifier and also a relatively easy QF! The problem is, he'll probably lose the first round.

Draw in doubles:
(4)Petzschner/Peya - Kas/Kohlschreiber

Re: Philipp Petzschner

^^ Always the same stuff, I hope that his match will be at least on TV that way, but it would be nice to see him win a match too sometimes, he always loses when we finally get to see him...

They are playing on court 1.

Another terrible loss in doubles, 6-1 3-6 7-10.
Great 5-0 start in the first set and then 5 wasted "match points" at 0-0 and 1-1 in the second set. Petzschner got broken at 2-3. They came back for 3-8 to 7-8, but Peya lost another 2 serves. I'm optimistic that the best of 5 system in Wimbledon will be better for him.

Odds are like 7.00 to 1.10 right now. As if he was a random challenger guy who can't play on grass.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

I hope they upload at least a press conference on their website from today's match. I think so far they only did this for center court matches, so who knows.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

The press conference is uploaded since yesterday. I liked this "Ich glaube der war restlos bedient."

Please win it tomorrow, as Becker looked very beatable today, got broken six times.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

I liked the whole press conference! :fangirl: I love his little smile and how honest he is too - "ich muß schon zugeben, dass er in den entscheindenden Phasen für einen Top 10 Spieler teilweise unterirdisch gespielt hat. Unglaublich, was für Bälle er verschlagen hat".

No silly superstition about the Center Court, please! Allez!
