Re: Philipp Petzschner

He was down with a break, but still managed to win the first set with 6:4. So far, so good.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Beck lost 11 service points in a row from *3-1 40-0.

Great 64 53* now, like against Andujar in San Marino.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Well done Philipp, one big mountain was exceeded. However, there is still a big mountain. Because Alves is very tough and a powerful enemy.

Come on son

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Alves is even favourite for the bookies, I was a bit more optimistic. If only the new lucky loser rule wasn't so retarded, it would look much easier.

Go and beat him and then avoid Nadal/Monfils in the main draw!

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Oh shit, broken 3 times in the 1st set, is that right (I missed the beginning)? Why the heck can't he hold anymore?

He finally breaks *4-3 and Alves breaks back straight away.

I've only heard of Koubek, are there any other late withdrawals? How are his chances to get a LL spot?

Re: Philipp Petzschner

0-7 in the tiebreak

His chances should be only 1 of 16 to get the LL spot tonight. I think that's how it was in the last Grand Slams.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

I guess he'll play only one tournament in the next 4 weeks, i.e. Donetsk the week after the US Open. Some wins are needed there. I was speculating on a direct entry in the Bangalore/Metz/Tokyo week, but if Bangalore gets cancelled, this won't be possible

edit He served only 44% first serves yesterday and an unseeded player got the LL.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

(5)Björkman/Ullyett - Garcia-Lopez/Navarro
Bolelli/Seppi - Kas/Petzschner
McClune/Van't Hof - Butorac/Levinsky
Chardy/Simon - (11)Damm/Vizner

The quarterfinal looks possible.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

Yes, revenge time after that annoying loss to Björkmann-Ulyett in Wimbledon, Philipp - no joke in the 1st round, please!

Two little pics from the qualies:

Re: Philipp Petzschner

The bookies have this match almost 50/50. I want to see a straight sets win though. After all, Philipp has only played 3 good doubles tournaments this year and a not even a top 100 rank is save yet, so every win is important now.

US Open: Schweres Los für Kas/Petzschner

In the meantime, Youzhny was replaced by Cipolla.

They're a very good team with Philipp in his opinion and the goal is, of course, to play Davis Cup together too. They already played together in Düsseldorf and lost against Bolelli-Starace, so Kas wanted his revenge. They know Seppi very well too since they played Bundesliga together.

Björkmann-Ulyett next.
