Re: Philipp Petzschner

Great performance and maybe it was easier than expected. I'm so happy for them

Congrats Philipp & Jürgen. Are they now on the World Tour Finals after this title?

Last year the #8 had 3535 points, Melzer/Petzschner now have 2520. But the good thing is, finally their combined ranking is good enough to enter Masters events and also have a good seed at the US Open, so it shouldn't be too difficult. So I guess the main danger apart from injuries is that Melzer qualifies for the singles.

Edit I see in the rulebook that it is enough already, if they are the best Slam winner from rank 8-20 or something like that. I don't want to read it carefully now.

Re: Philipp Petzschner

It's weird people say in GM that nobody cared about them, to me it sounded in the matches I saw like people were cheering for them.

My livestream sucked, I could hardly see the ball today. If somebody sees extended highlights somewhere (a bit longer than the ones on the tournament website), I would love to rewatch at least parts of it.

I've loved watching Philipp and Melzer play this fortnight! So good. Is PP married?

Fran, those pics are

I was hoping that Tennis Channel would show the doubles final during the week bc they usually rebroadcast all of the final matches but they're not going to. I guess the Bryans have to be in the final for them to show it. Actually, it probably would have required for it to be the Williams'

Re: Philipp Petzschner

I had no idea you had been keeping an eye on him since your "stalking mission" in IW, that's great news!
Their run got quite a good coverage here in Germany for once, the free TV even showed a few times highlights of their semi-final, but the final only was on the pay TV channel and I don't have it, unfortunately.

Yes, he is and they have a son (not his biological son, but he's brought him up and calls him "our son" when he talks about Aziz).
Here's the Petzsche family in Munich this year:

Re: Philipp Petzschner

I've uploaded the Mens Doubles Final to Tennishaven http://www.tennishaven.com/details.php?id=1383 PM me if anyone needs an invite code.
I made it a free torrent so download stats aren't counted, only upload stats The file is in 2 parts so if you only want the last set and the trophy ceremony, you only need to download pt2

Re: Philipp Petzschner

I knew there would be at least one person who would appreciate it
I've been cheering for him, mainly because of you to start with, but he's very entertaining to watch! I really wanted to watch Germany v Argentina but I figured it would be easy enough to find a download of that match, and Wimby doesn't seem to be that well covered elsewhere
Enjoy!

Well, what can I say? He made quite the impression Even my hubby cheers for him now too.

And great catch Les on the video I have an aversion to having to register at new sites, but for this I may. Especially if Jürgen blows kisses at the camera That paired with elated jumping around/falling down from the two of them

That tweet is the best! The 'omg' at the end is just

Because the singles final was so short today parts of the Petzschner/Melzer final was shown today on free TV as well

The celebration was just great to watch
