Mayer has a big future ahead of him, if he keeps a cool head and is well managed. I dont think he will be successful in Wimbledon and on grass because his swing is too big, but on clay I would think he will be a very good bet in the next few years for Roland Garros.
I've just finished watching some recaps on TV and Florian said that he of course needed a bit of luck winning three tiebreaks. He said that he was much better than Arthurs from the baseline and Arthurs had his serve that was almost unbreakable but on the other hand Arthurs also couldn't break his serve and that's why it ended three times in a tiebreak. He is glad that he finally won more points on Arthurs' serve when it counted.
Looking forward to his next match... most likely against Coria (two points away from victory).
