Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Well done Florian! Its refreshing to see one of the rising stars in either Florian Mayer or Joachim Johansson will be in the quarters. Both have played well this year.

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Mayer is close to the top50 now
he will get 150 for his 4th round, and right now he has 590 points and you need 740 to be in top50
now it depends on how many points the players around him earn, or lose
but if florian can reach the Quarterfinal he will be top50 for sure

this is crazy
his goal was to reach the top100, then he said he want to reach the top50
and now he is maybe top50 after wimbledon
what will be his new goal then top30?

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Florian d. J.Johansson 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 and is into the QF!

What a great event for Florian!! He plays Grosjean in QF. Grosjean is very good on grass but Florian has nothing to lose

Good Luck Florian

What a day for Mayer!!!

outguns PimPim and lets him almost no chance!

That's really an awesome achievement for him.

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Grosjean outguns Mayer 7-5 6-4 6-2

that was just too good for Mayer today, you have to accept

but still his biggest tournament in his early career, that's great for him and there's no reason why he should be disappointed!

Neely, has Germany announced her Olympic team yet? Will Florian be included?

yes, he is nominated
first he was not, but then after his Johansson win he got the official nomination.

Flo played a great wimby
and now he won 4 matches at all 3 Grand slams this year so far
i hope this continues

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Yeah I was wondering who was confirmed from Germany. I think Schüttler is playing but the ITF haven't published an official list yet.
Neely will know

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Schüttler, Haas and Kiefer have been nominated first, but as Matthias said, Meyer was nominated also later.

Great tournament for Meyer I really enjoyed watching him! I hope he can continue like this!

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Nominated is not the same as in the team, right?

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Don’t think so but the names mentioned so far are probably pretty accurate

so far I know Kiefer , Schüttler, Haas and Mayer are 100% playing the Olympics (presumed they aren't injured, of course).

Germany's double: Kiefer/Schüttler

@athie
sorry, Lars will not play

BTW, there will be also no German women playing
the commentator today said something like they were rejected by the NOC , but not completely sure if I got it correctly though
