Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Thanks for that report Neely

It was a tough draw with Soderling coming off the win in Lyon and Florian is not at his best indoors. Anyway good luck Florian in your next event

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

On Eurosport Jürgen Höthker said about this match that Florian has run totally out of gas now towards the end of the season and that he must be tired like hell from playing so much in his first ATP season because he is not yet used to this.

Well, hopefully he can start fresh into the next year.

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

I hope so Neely. Paris will be his last event and then he will have the off season to get refreshed. It has been a great year for him. Good Luck in Paris, Florian

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Okay, so Mayer doesn't play this week.

Probably he was done for the season after this Basel loss and decided not to play at all.

As I told you above, the commentator said that he was completely without power.

See you next year, Florian!

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Well done Florian on an excellent year

I wonder if he will play any German League matches through December? I know a lot of German players have played those events in the past.

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Florian is 3rd on the list for next week's Mobilux $125k Challenger. He is third behind Joachim Johansson and Jiri Novak. Greg Rusedski is 4th seed.

I didn't think he would play again this year but good luck Florian

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

wow, and PimPim and Rusedski are also there? Don't these guys take any time off?

My German guys are like the cast of the Wizard of Oz:

Rainer = Lion
Kiwi = Scarecrow
Tommy = Tin Man
Flo = Dorothy

...but I still love 'em

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Florian lost in the first round to Gregory Carraz 6-2 6-4

Although, it's not so bad as it is a Challenger and none of us expecting him to actually be here.

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Florian plays in Adelaide this week He's the 7th seed and plays Wayne Arthurs in the first round, who is always dangerous with that serve. Good luck Florian

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Mayer won 6-4 3-6 7-5 against Arthurs

at Wimbledon after he won against Arthurs in three tiebreaks he said that he has known that he will never lose serve against Arthurs because Arthurs is returning not good enough, but in this match it looks like he lost his serve at least once...

but finally he could win it in the last set!

better start after his very very bad season ending in 2004!

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Florian Mayer Cheering Thread

Enqvist def. Mayer 6-3 6-3

damn, that was a relatively clear result. Looks like Enqvist is finding some good form again, normally I wouldn't have expected it so one-sided.

Better luck next week in Sydney, Florian!!
