Torsten Popp

Gutentag!

I have been following Torsten since Scheveningen '06, but now he hasn't played for a month, does anyone know the reason for that? Or where to find such information on him? It's not really easy to find something...

I can read and speak German, just writing is a bit difficult, so that's why this post is in English

Re: Torsten Popp

Doesn't Torsten have any fans on this board?

Re: Torsten Popp

I don't know what happened to him. He isn't even on the alt list for Karlsruhe, so I fear his comeback is not yet in sight.

I've seen him vs Kohlschreiber some years ago and wasn't too impressed. But later I realized that he was still quite young, so maybe he improved. At least I was surprised about his rise in the rankings.

Re: Torsten Popp

I saw him in Scheveningen last year, I only saw a little of his match, but I was quite impressed But I'm easy to impress when a player is also really nice

I also can't find him any draw for a few weeks, I thought maybe someone here knows what's happened to him .
Hopefully he gets back soon

Re: Torsten Popp

Forgot to post it here, but Torsten played doubles in Hamburg!
He's back

He was injured, don't know anything else. They mentioned injury in a message about his withdrawel from the German tennis liga.

Re: Torsten Popp

Looks like I'm the only one interested, but here goes:
Torsten reached the QF in the future in Kempten
Unfortunately Antal van der Duim defeated him
But: Torsten's back!

Re: Torsten Popp

listen kid...I am my own source...I know for sure that he retired...
and yes I'm glad he did...waste of time...he is more valuable at his job right now as a hitting partner
peace

Re: Torsten Popp

How can you be so sure?
And why do you know this if you think his tennis is a waste of time? Do you always follow players you'd like to see retiring?

Who's he hitting with? Maybe there's still a chance to see him play, even if it's not a real match

I also remember him to play doubles at another tournament in qualies somewhere last year.
I can't think of a good reason for someone to play a random doubles match every once in a while
But I'm happy you said this, I didn't look up draws for a few weeks, so I missed that
