Who's next?

Which german player has the potential to a Top-100-Player?

Who can follow Mayer, Becker and Kohlschreiber into the Top 50?

Some names:

- Michael Berrer
- Simon Greul
- Mischa Zverev
- Denis Gremelmayr
- Dieter Kindlmann
- Benedikt Dorsch
- Matthias Bachinger
- Bastian Knittel
- Simon Stadler
- Torsten Popp
- Tobias Summerer
- Julian Reister
- Tobias Kamke
- Daniel Brands
- Gero Kretschmer
- Andreas Beck
- Marcel Zimmermann
- David Klier
- or another one

Who has exhausted his potential and who not?

Re: Who's next?

Has nobody an opinion?

I haven't seen many of them playing.

Greul und Gremelmayr maybe can come back into the Top 100, but more isn't possible, I think.

Zverev, Bachinger and Brands are very young. Maybe they have the biggest potential or?

Re: Who's next?

@JMG: Not sure about Bachinger. Have you never seen him playing or couldn't you rate his style of playing?

Re: Who's next?

I've seen Bachinger twice on live stream @Rimouski challenger 2006.

Yes, I have problems to rate his potential. His style wasn't spectacular and he didn't look outstanding. I couldn't say "He will make the top 100 for sure".

Maybe it's easier to say when I watch him tomorrow against a guy like Baghdatis. Should be on Premiere.

Tobias Kamke - maybe top 100
this one is kind of ridiculous....tobias kamke maybe not top 300!!!!!!!!!!!!!
besides zverev there is really no one who will join the top 50 anytime soon...

You idiot, he is no. 220 at the moment and e.g. Berrer said Kamke will be top 100 in the future. I haven't seen him in ages, so I can only say "maybe".

Re: Who's next?

More than two years later...I quote the predictions of JMG...

Michael Berrer - maybe 80-100, like Waske...reached High 51 in 11/07, now 111...will hardly reach old level, mayber not Top 100 again...

Simon Greul - has reached his best already...High 75 in 2006, but now 76...some comebacks after injuries...plays solid on a good level at this time...will reach new high this year...maybe Top 60...

Mischa Zverev - 50-100... High 45 06/09, now 47...steadily rising in rankings...but has to improve his game to resume this...

Denis Gremelmayr - has reached his best already...high 59 05/08, now 135...now he has reached his best already...maybe back to Top 100...

Dieter Kindlmann - 150-200...130 2004, now 171...you were dead right, I think...

Benedikt Dorsch - no top 100...127 05/09, 142...like Kindlmann...

Matthias Bachinger - not sure...167 09/08, 245...now I'm not sure futhermore...

Bastian Knittel - 200-300...221 04/07, 396...like Kindlmann...

Simon Stadler - not sure...140 02/09, 229...no Top 100...

Torsten Popp - no top 150...probably

Tobias Summerer - no top 150...like Popp

Julian Reister - don't know...current High 181...but in the best case Top 150 I think...

Tobias Kamke - maybe top 100...174 07/08, 325...will hardly reach Top 100, but will come back to Top 200 I think..

Daniel Brands - don't know...109 07/09, 120...has not reached his best yet, petential Top 80 I think...

Gero Kretschmer - probably no top 200...current high 365...like Kindlmann...

Andreas Beck - top 100...51 07/09, 52...will reach Top 50 soon, maybe Top 40...like Zverev...

Marcel Zimmermann - don't know him...haven't been necessary to know him...

David Klier - probably no top 200...like Kindlmann...and like Zimmermann...

...so, who's new and next?

Top 100 potential? Sieber, Gojowczyk, Langer, Stebe, Brunken, Krawietz, Schulz, Georgoudas, Becker...JMG, it's your turn...

Re: Who's next?

Sieber - can't see him reaching the top 200, his shots have no pace

Gojowczyk - top 100 are possible for him, his forehand is damn fast. he just has to develop his variety, he is too one-dimensional at the moment. often he bashes the ball until the point is finished.

Langer - challenger level for sure

Stebe - we can expect him to make the top 200

Brunken - should become a solid challenger player at least, but no top 150 I would guess

Krawietz - haven't seen enough from him

Schulz - never seen him, but he seems to be the obvious candidate for top 100 and more

Georgoudas - only future level I fear

Becker - lots of potential, as he has a very aggressive game. let's say top 200

There are eother young hopes like Lenz, but I've never seen them play.

Re: Who's next?

I saw Jan-Lennard Struff playing qualies in Hamburg. I was impressed. He looked like top 100 stuff. He has both power and a certain amount of cleverness.

Re: Who's next?

I saw Struff vs Gojowczyk one month ago and I wasn't that impressed by Struff. I thought Gojowczyk lost, because he had a really bad day. Then Struff beat him again two weeks later, so maybe he is really promising, although I rate Gojowczyk higher. Gojowzyk has more power, but less cleverness.
