2011 SEC Tournament

In Gainsville,FL

SEC tournament headquarters with live scoring

Brilliant live scoring function, updated by not only games but points.

So far it has been a traigh ahead tournament.

Thursday:

5 Florida 4, 12 Arkansas 0
6 Auburn 4, 11 South carolina 0 (double bagel alert: Mezies of USC beaten 0,0 by Mies at #5 singles)
7 LSU 4, 10 Alabama 0
8 Ole Miss 4, Vanderbilt 0

Today:

Things are already much more interesting. 3 Kentucky edged Auburn 4-3on a comeback by Musialek at #2.

LSU just took the doubles point against 2 Georgia. That makes it interesting.

later today:

4 Mississippi State vs 5 Florida: Gators will have home court advantage. Miss State has been really good so far and is dangerous to anyone. This will be a great match

1 Tennessee vs 8 Ole Miss

Paradorn Srichaphan
Kei Nishikori, Donald Young, Somdev Devvarman, Dustin Brown, Steve Johnson, Yannick Maden
Robert Farah, Clement Reix, Alexander Dolgopolov, Nathan Thompson

Re: 2011 SEC Tournament

as expected Miss State putting up a fight vs Florida. I really like the chemistry of that team. Solid all the way through. Louis Cant is a near lock at #5 for the Bulldogs. Gators still favored to win this as they lead on enough courts but Ms State making a comeback on some.

edit: it's 2-1 Florida. Newman def White 6-4 6-3 at #6. Miss State gets a point after Cant def Federhofer 6-3 6-2 at #5.

Bangoura about to finish off Coupland. Illyushin has made a stirring comeback vs Lacroix and is now in control. Stropp beating Van Overbeek.

It will come down to court #3 where Sliliam of Florida and Chaudry of Miss State have split sets.

The live scoring function has been great. Been sneaking peaks at it while at the lab

Tennessee wins one of the 3-set matches to clinch 4-1 over Ole Miss. Williams loses at #2.

Re: 2011 SEC Tournament

Semifinals today:

Geogria vs Kentucky
Tennessee vs Florida - Florida has been romped bu UT the last few times they have met. I expect Florida to put up a better fight today being at home but Tennessee will still win.

Kentucky up 1-0 and in control of 4 of the singles matches. Georgia is ranked #5 in the nation but this loss will knock them down.

Re: 2011 SEC Tournament

Florida lost doubles but has come out very strong in singles. Won the 1st set on 4 courts and the other 2 in tiebreakers

Florida now up 3-1. Tennessee must have all 3 remaining courts

Re: 2011 SEC Tournament

Strong effort from Florida. They will be back where they belong in the rankings after a lull in the later part of the regular season. Slilam and Van Overbeek have emerged and Lacroix is back in form. Watch out for the Gators come tourney time
