Re: 2011 Regular Season - ITA REGIONAL FINALS TODAY! All of the Top 20 in action!

Every host team advances. Pretty surprising that there were no upsets. Not that many even came close. Looks like the rankings are pretty accurate at the moment.

Re: 2011 Regular Season - #5 Texas def #10 Texas A&M 4-3; #1 Rhyne Williams loses

The singles rankings rely on the highest ranked players you beat and the worst players you lose too. There is an exact formula that gives a score then they rank the players based on score.
I'll try to find a better answer but I have looked it up before and its hard to find a lot of information about it.

Ohio State makes a strong statement by beating Georgia 6-1. Doumbia made an impressive rally to just give UGA 1 point. Ohio State makes a case for why they are a national title contendor and also shows that Georgia is still a relatively inexperienced team.

Florida edges FSU 4-3. FSU always plays Florida close, but the Gators were able to pull it our again. Shows the strength of FSU though and that they could are a contender for 2nd place in the ACC.

Duke def Notre Dame 5-2

Michigan State def Wake Forest 6-1 . What's going on Ozone?

Tripper and New Zealand boy didnt make the trip. I have no idea why, but all of this unneccesary losing is pissing me off. We are so much bettre than this. Now hosting NCAA regionals is for sure out of the picture just 1 week into the season. There is nothing to be excited about unless Tripper and New Zealand play against Louisville next weekend. Damn.

Florida State is a really great team. I think they will upset the Duke Blue Devils this year.

Illinois is a team to watch out for in the National Indoor tournament. They are playing a brutal schedule. They gave Tennessee a hard timea dn they just beat Duke 4-2 today(Nevolo/Cunha did not finish). After losing doubles Illinois obliterated Duke on courts 4-6. Deep team and at their best Indoors.

I will be attending the 51 Clemson vs 66 Depaul match tomorrow. We better be up for it because Depaul is not a pushover. Hopefully Yannick Maden will play #1 for us because I have yet to see him play (he has only played in 2 away matches).

Ole Miss def Mississippi State 4-1. Very close match though. The Bulldogs were leading on the 2 adandoned courts.

Ole Miss has taken a big hit in recent years after the departure of Britton and Berg. Remember they were #2 in the nation 2 years ago.

Does this matchup have anything to do with Oliver Purnell?

Sorry that I haven't posted much here...not that I've been able to follow much college tennis outside of Utah. We had a rough stretch, playing @ Stanford and then @ Cal back-to-back. We lost both 7-0, didn't grab a set in the Cal matchup, but we did win a few sets against Stanford. Still haven't made it to a home match but they've had like 1 so I will have more chances soon.

I know our women's team is top 45 though, which is interesting.
