Guille videos

I thought we already had a video thread, but I can't find it anymore.

For people who don't have the complete collection of Guille's matches on DVD like daze & Co., there is a website "ATP Masters Series TV" with free access for the duration of the IW tournament:
http://www.atpmastersseries.tv
In the "Series Archive" section, they have many interesting highlights from the finals of 2003, 2004 and 2005 = a lot of Guille, among other things! MC and Rom 2005, Miami, MC and Hamburg 2004, MC and Hamburg 2003...
(Sorry if it's not new, I've just discovered it!)
It doesn't always work with Firefox on my system, but it works fine with Internet Explorer.

Edit: OK, not really a scoop anymore, everybody is talking about it in GM!

Re: Guille's videos

you know, i got even MORE! i got his 3-set loss to hewitt at nasdaq a few years back and his 2002 loss on CLAY to RODDICK! surprisingly, it wasnt such a bad match! it was great because it was JUST as he was returning to the circuit, and the announcers were not at all expecting anything from him at all -- roddick was seeded like 2, and guille to them was just "another clay court challenger" who should be shushed aside by roddicks power. so the interpretation at the time was that coria was upsetting roddick, rather than that roddick had upset coria. (and on clay, i think theres little doubt, it is coria being upset)...

but i really did enjoy it and didnt feel bad about him losing--it was more like he was figuring out where he fit in it all...and he played really well. i think roddick was better on clay before he became such a big name. his 5-set upset of chang back in 2001 at the french open was amazingly fun to watch.

its also good for perspective regarding NOW, as you are reminded that becoming dominant and 'in the zone' involves getting on a hot streak and building momentum. you've got to start from somewhere, and it takes a little time to get on a roll.

Re: Guille's videos

I've uploaded with Youtube the "La Magia" part of the last "Tenis Pro" show because somebody couldn't open the file with RapidShare. I hope it works, it's the first time ever I edit a video, I was not too sure about the format:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=uz8uyrpDaOg

And here's the whole video uploaded with Megaupload, if it was only a problem with Rapidshare:

Re: Guille's videos

The other part of the Tenispro show in Acapulco, posted by Alexito in in his video thread. Not much Guille this time, as expected (you can also just have a look at the screenshot Alexito posted in the pic thread, it comes to the same thing - Mariano asks him what he's listening to, he answers Pergolini (?), that's about all). But Chucho looks great, as usual:

Re: Guille's videos

And for people like me who still haven't seen THE highlight of 2005 = the Davis Cup match against Hewitt, I've just read that post in the Torrent thread in GM:

I've never heard the name before, but there is actually a Wikipedia entry. It seems Pergolini hosts music shows, so perhaps Guille was catching up on some old broadcasts? At least it didn't mention Pergolini as being a performer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Pergolini

Mario Daniel Pergolini (born July 3, 1964 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine journalist, media producer and businessman, best known as the main host of TV program Caiga Quien Caiga broadcast on Argentina's Canal 13.

...In 1989 he hosted Rock and pop TV together with other radio figures. Probably his first successful TV shows were the teenager-rebel program La TV ataca (1991–1993) and Hacélo por mí (1992), but it was Caiga Quien Caiga (first aired in 1995) the most successful of them all.

... He still hosts Caiga Quien Caiga and his radio show Cuál es at Rock & Pop.

Re: Guille's videos

Thanks, it was new to me!
I have a similar video called "Duelo de la semana: Hewitt vs Argentina". The quality is HORRIBLE, but I uploaded it with Youtube too, if anybody is interested in it. Of course I don't understand a word either, they probably make fun of Hewitt, but since most of you here are Hewitt haters... The 1st part is more about David, the 2nd part about Guille.

Re: Guille's videos

But your video was more interesting, I'd love to know too if they say anything interesting or funny. Can anybody help? *puppy dog eyes*

(I've found bits of translations of the "Hewitt vs Argentina" video in this thread:

Thanks everyone for uploading these great videos

I have one question to you Francoise: I tried to watch the archieve video section on atptennis.com, but I only get a message that you have to pay for it.
Did I do something wrong???

Re: Guille's videos

It's normal, it's an old message, it's not free anymore. But I have the videos, I can upload them if anybody is interested and didn't save them during the free access period.
I could upload for example the highlights of the finals with Guille:
Miami final 2004 (94 MB)
MC final 2005 (126 MB)
MC final 2004 (105 MB)
MC final 2003 (74 MB)
Roma final 2005 (108 MB)
Hamburg final 2003 (74 MB)
(The link for the Hamburg final 2004 isn't working anymore)

I really don't mind, just tell me if you are interested since the files are pretty big!

Would be great if you could upload them, thank you so much

Re: Guille's videos

I see, you want to watch Guille *win* a match, for a change!
Here's the first one, the highlights of the final in Hamburg in 2003:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U6E7K8DK

But I never know which service to use, some people have got problems with Megauplaod, other with Rapidshare, Sendspace or Yousendit... Tell me which one you prefer before I upload other highlights.
(I tried the zupload.com website somebody recommended in GM lately, it took hours to upload the file and I got an error message at the end!)

Re: Guille's videos

And another short video, the highlights of his match against Nalbandian in Shanghai. It's not very interesting and he wears his Spiderman outfit, but there is one really nice rallye and I had already downloaded the Shanghai Highlights anyway because of Federer's dropshot, so here you are:
