I explain it. I saw many of his matches and I see, that he has problems with tension of his arm during the serve or something more. This problem increased in this year.
Why do You think, that his problems with muscles of arm or shoulder or cervical vertebral column or right brachial plexus have any psychological ground? He shall go to neurologist and any good orthopaedist not necessarily for ATP specialist, but to normal doctor - assistent for instance from any academic clinic in Buenos Aires . I don't know, why only psychologists say something about him. Have they any medical preparation? If psychologists in Argentina have so good medical preparation, that means, that they know complications after misdiagnosed diseases of mentioned aboved problems and they know something about penal liability. Something is not good with his health. You remember FO final in 2004. He had then attack of renal colic because of nephrolithiasis, that's why, he played through. He is quite resistant and he stood to the end of the match. I canm say, that many of patients, who have renal colic attack have problems with rise out of the bed.
I suppose, that something is wrong with fis arm, shoulder, cervical vertebral column ora right brachial plexus. He needs any good medical specialist neurologist, orthopaedist. He should beginn with visit at neurologist.
I think you are reading way too much into his serve/performance problems.
(he won´t go to a bad one) psychologist, Argentine or not, specially the ones that works in sports psychology (and trust me, I know what I`m talking about.... he won´t go to a psychoanalyst to improve his tennis performance) is able to differentiate a mental problem from a physical problem. And, certainly, there`s no need of any medical preparation to know about penal liability of misdiagnosed diseases, that´s part of any decent psychological preparation too.
From what all of us know about his "problems" (and that is information in the media), they are psychological, as he, some members of his family and coaches said more than once. In fact, I, IMHO, don´t think there´s any problem with the muscles of his arm or shoulder or cervical vertebral column or right brachial plexus
It was reported, more than once that his serve is just fine in training sessions.
That, and his own words are enough for me
And I think I won´t say anything more about this issue
I don´t think anyone is still interested in this specific discussion
A short article in Olé
says for Gumy "Calleri's ex-coach". None of the articles mention Calleri, they all say Gumy will be Coria's coach in 2007, period.
According to the article, Gumy doesn't want to comment yet on how they will work together with Guille.
He only said to Clarin: "Hay que ir despacio, paso a paso con un trabajo minucioso. Estuvo mucho tiempo sin jugar"
Something like: they must "tackle" it slowly, step by step, work meticulously. It's been a long time without playing.
There already is a lot of fuss about the WC for Viña del Mar, he asked for a WC, so did Cañas, Rios wouldn't get a WC then because there are only 2 WC, etc.:
The best luck to Guille with Gumy
Too funny how long he has been Calleri´s coach
Anyway, I`m sure he`ll receive WCs if it´s not Viña it will be any other S American clay tournament, for sure.... BTW, I didn´t know Rios was suposed to receive a WC in Viña... He is in the senior´s tour, I don´t know if that´s possible...
So, the candidates for the 2 Viña WCs are Guga, the Guillermos and Rios
