Guillermo Vilas was doing commentary for the US Open men's final for BBC Radio 5 yesterday, and he talked a bit about Guille before the match.
He said he first met him when Guille was nine years old; Guille's father introduced him to Vilas and told Vilas that he had named him Guillermo after him, and Vilas said he thought that was really nice.
Vilas also mentioned Guille's surgery; the other commentater then asked if Guille would be playing Houston and Vilas said that Guille wants to but that he may be out for up to three months because of the surgery so it's not certain yet.
He also said that he had marked out Guille early on as one of the best young players. You could tell that Vilas thinks highly of Guille and it was great to hear him getting support from one of the legends of the game.
