Re: Stuttgart

What a scoreline, so it's the same old, same old problem then. So frustrating, it does seem like there is nothing that can cure it.

Q. You must have so many different emotions going through your head. Was it like a rollercoaster for you?
STANISLAS WAWRINKA: Yeah, yeah, it's quite crazy..I never expect to win a Grand Slam.
I never dream about that because for me, I was not good enough to beat those guy.

Maybe the sky will fall?

Re: Stuttgart

i was in stuttgart today and will write some thoughts here:

i was lucky to see guille practising in the morning, he was hitting a few balls with brian dabul, a fellow argentinian. he seemed to be very relaxed, made some jokes and was friendly to the fans, giving autographs and photos. of course i wanted to see what his serve looks like in practice and surprise, surprise, he had no problems at all, easily hit first and second serves and i was hoping good things for the match, though i was still expecting a loss.

the match:well, some of you saw it, so there's not much to add. he played very well in the first set and edu was completely off, as truc said, he looked like having an injury and was moaning right from the start. guille's play was solid and he didn't make much unforced errors (apart from the DFs) which was enough to give out a bagel. i was like "WTF is going on here", the first set was over in 30 minutes. then guille took the 1-0 lead in the second and had chances to make it 2-0, but suddenly edu is waking up and pushing himself, while coria fell apart from one moment to the other without any reason. the serve got worse every second, rallies were still competitive, but you cannot win against schwank when you produce 2-3 DFs per game. his first serve was at 35% at the end, which is ridiculous. i also noticed that 80% of his misses are into the net and sometimes you could tell a DF coming right after he tosse the ball up. his whole service motion looked different than in practice, i have no explanation for that. there was little hope when he made it 2-3 in the last set, but the serve still let him down. yes, he was fighting, but obviously it's so frustrating to see his serve breaking down and he looked helpless on court at the end he was leaving immediately after his loss. i saw him again later, he still looked very disappointed, sorry to say.

so all in all, it may be hard to find positive things out of this match, but his baseline game has definitely improved. but we cannot ignore the fact that his serve was atrocious today and he won't win a match with a serving display like this.

Re: Stuttgart

Thanks a lot, Fabian, it's always very interesting to know how it looked "in real" - and to have again the confirmation he's serving well in training and his serve looks completely different then. It must drive him so crazy to have all the pieces of the jigsaw and not be able to put them together.

Re: Stuttgart

i totally agree with fabian i was there too and i basically saw the same things. it was interesting for me because i was sitting right next to schwanks friend who basically coached him throughout the entire match and i also came with that guy cuz my friend knew him (i was kinda suprised that he didnt get mad with me rooting for coria the entire time) i talked to that guy and he told me that corias game is nearly perfect from the baseline and his movement is extraordinary! only the toss for the serve is ruining everything because his serve motion is alright, and if we think about it coria has never been a big server anyways. and it was true you could see that he would doublefault just looking at the toss. it was horrible and i was very frustrated after the match and so was guille... it might be hard but i seriously dont really see a future for him in todays tennis cuz without a serve he cant compete, even against players like schwank theres no chance for him to win. it was really sad because everything looked so great in the first set. he just has to work on his game on a mental level... psychologist or something for real!!!

...desperately waiting for Guillermo Coria to come back...

you really want to buy it?

tennis-warehouse.com has everything, but i'm not sure if it's too expensive for customers in germany. here are the links to what i think was his outfit:

Re: Stuttgart

Thanks!

The short is right, but this isn't the shirt from Coria.

Where can I buy the blue shirt and the blue wristband?
