Re: Hamburg

Decided not to expect anything, so everything is good this tournament. It is such an unpredictable field that some 10 guys can win it, Melzer being one of them.
But let's take it one match at a time.

Re: Hamburg

I do not understand why this seems to happen to Melzer/Petzschner so often. They won in Stuggart and lose in the first round in Hamburg. I wish better for Jurgen in singles.

Re: Hamburg

I thinkk it's good that he loses in doubles early. Now he can focus entirely on singles and defending his final spot.

Gimeno is definitely a must-win.

Re: Hamburg

I agree a must win and it started off like he would win easily and at this moment, I am getting nervous as G-T just broke Jurgen in the second set and is serving for the set.

Yes! That feels good. In my opinion is Fognini also a must win.

Since he reached the finals here last year I think they are all must wins.

Re: Hamburg

Losing a set to DGT isn't that promising, but good that he got a win again. Fognini isn't a must-win imo. He is very unpredictable, but Melzer is too these days. So pretty unpredictable match imo. Think Melzer is hte favourite though and is going to win. He must! But after that, Verdasco awaits

Re: Hamburg

His straight set win over Fognini gives me hope that Jurgen may be back on tract with winning the matches he should win. If it is Verdasco, it will be tough but Verdasco has been having a rough year also. It will be up for grabs as to who will win. Jurgen needs to go far in this tournament and not lose points imo.

Re: Hamburg

Pretty pleased with this, good numbers. And 90 points, so he can only drop 200 this week.

Think it will be 50-50 against Verdasco.

Re: Hamburg

Jurgen lost to Verdasco in 3 sets. I think he might drop down in the teens in the rankings. I could not find if he is playing next week.

Re: Hamburg

I did not get to see the match but I read this and thought that is so sad for Jurgen.

Referee wrong decision will cost Melzer two break opportunities

Melzer really unfortunate for it was then in the last game: Jürgen led 30:15 when the linesman saw a forehand in the pages of the Austrian-Off. The referee checked and confirmed the decision. The Hawk-Eye, which is seen only on television, but showed that the ball was in the field. Instead of 40:15 and two chances to recent re-break, it was now 30:30. Verdasco finally converted after a long rally 2:09 and his first match point.
