Re: ⚜ Ḡrїgor Ṫhe Grἀss Kiἥg ⚜

Last year during the grasscourt season, he was getting a lot of 1st serves in and his served out wide to the deuce court was particularly lethal. I haven't seen that serve for a while which is disappointing as it's a great serve on grass. Hopefully he will work on some things over the next week and go into Wimbledon with a lot of confidence.

Re: ⚜ Ḡrїgor Ṫhe Grἀss Kiἥg ⚜

It will be interesting to see how he does. Anyone know if there will be a stream? I read a post on another thread saying the tournament was going to be streamed on Youtube but there hasn't been any update since then. I see Grigor's match starts at 2.30pm so if anyone finds a link for the match, please post it in here.

I saw that the tournament is in the schedule for the live streaming in bet365, so I suppose there will be links in the internet as wall.

Its not a terrible match for Grigor.

Tipsarevic hasn't had a great year and can't be feeling that confident.

Really hope he plays well.

Tipsarevic has had good results on grass in the past and beat Grigor at Eastbourne a couple of years ago. If Grigor has refound his form he should win but I wouldn't say Tipsarevic is a pushover on this surface.

Re: ⚜ Ḡrїgor Ṫhe Grἀss Kiἥg ⚜

These are not serious matches. Whoever wins/loses is not important - it's all for the show, for the entertainment of the crowd. And if there's anyone who loves to and knows how to put on a show, Grigor is the man. Another positive is that in my opinion this is exactly the right kind of tournament/environment to get him relaxed and let him reinvent his grass game. Can't wait...

Re: ⚜ Ḡrїgor Ṫhe Grἀss Kiἥg ⚜

An interesting first set. It is definitely exhibition stuff so difficult to know how well or poorly he is playing. Not sure about the movement or return of serve yet. Looks a bit suspect and Tipsarevic hasnt been great. Wimbledon is where it matters though.

Cant watch the second set, I am being forced to work. It is annoying when your job gets in the way of watching tennis!

Re: ⚜ Ḡrїgor Ṫhe Grἀss Kiἥg ⚜

Ladies (cougars and young ones) were screaming at every show-off shot he tried. Maria is so going to have to watch her back.

He looked appropriately disappointed (as he should). Got a chance to take the second set tb, just being too generous at one point when Tipsy fell down, Grigor didn't kill the shot, just put in so Tipsy could get back into the rally (and won the point and the tb).

In the end the interviewer also interviewed him, saying "Normally, we don't interview the loser but for the ladies...(turned to interview Grigor)" Brief one and nothing significant though.

Re: ⚜ Ḡrїgor Ṫhe Grἀss Kiἥg ⚜

I think it is really good he is popular.

My worry is amongst all the young players he is the one with the star status, but he hasn't done anything in tennis terms to really earn it. No titles yet and one 3rd round performance at a slam.

I think it would be a pity if he let it all distract him from fulfilling his potential. Everyone that supports him recognises how good he can be. I hope we see him get the success on the court his talent merits.

Cant wait for Wimbledon draw on Friday, hope it is kind to him.

Re: ⚜ Ḡrїgor Ṫhe Grἀss Kiἥg ⚜

I liked him. He played better compared to queens. Probably should be more careful and do less splits though...no need to risk anything before Wimbledon. All in all, he did what he had to - some beautiful shots and great show As for the moment when janko fell down in the second tb, if it wasn't demomatch, Grisho would never played it like that, he was just too generous Another interesting thing is that although it was the first match for the day, it ended up to be the most observed
Anyway, does anyone know when he plays next and vs whom ?
