Grigor has to play tournaments. Yes he is in the entry list for seven weeks in a row but depending on the results he can make changes. He needs the game practice and it won't be bad to play every week. Those breaks aren't helping him a lot and we can't say that he've played a lot of matches the last month or so. The only way to improve his game and mentality are competitive matches and many as there can.
I have never been a professional tennis player so I have no idea what is involved in the off-court routines that those guys have, and I am sure that there is a pretty good reason why they do things the way they do them, but I have always wandered why he takes those weeks off. He is probably playing practice matches every day anyhow, why not just sign up for a challenger (or a futures for that matter) whatever is in the area and instead of hitting with his coach, play with guys who are going to try their best to beat him. He can still experiment with different things and generally do the same things he does in practice the only difference will be that it will be a real match and there will be scoreboard pressure and at the end of the day while he is practising he can make a few bucks for ice cream
and add a few points.
