Great wins for Kirche and Pereira. That's 9 Brazilians in the MD.

Glad Julio Cesar qualified as well.

Nice victories of Pereira and Kirche!

I think that this Challenger will be another brazilian on final!

Re: Week 39: Cali, Colombia [Entry List]

Estrella d. Capdeville 6-3 6-4
Kirche d. Gracie 6-1 6-0
Silva d. Dasnieres de Veigy 7-6(4) 6-0
Ghedin d. Struvay 6-2 6-3
Cabal d. Begemann 6-3 6-1

Good for Kirche to get a bye after coming from qualies. Silva is getting better in this second semester.

As for Capdeville. That's not a good moment for him to say the least, can't get any wins right now. Cabal had a great start, thought it would be some battle for him against Begemann.

Re: Week 39: Cali, Colombia [Entry List]

Marcos was up a break twice in the first set, and was up 2-0 and 3-1 in the tiebreak.

I still think he can come back, but he might be injured, otherwise this result is ridiculous and shows me he is no longer a viable tennis player and could be headed towards retirement. Losing to someone ranked 470, and in Colombia, is probably the worst loss of his career if it happens.

Re: Week 39: Cali, Colombia [Entry List]

Gonzalez def. Daniel 7-6(5) 6-4

If Marcos again fails miserably next week in Quito, I think he's done as a professional in terms of being a decent player. This loss makes me really sad, and is definitely among the worst in his career. He had 2 break points to get it back on serve in the second after being down 4-*0.

These two weeks and next week in Quito were his opportunity to get back into the top 100, and with the relatively weak draws, there is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for his performances and I can only attribute them to him being old and worn. Lets see if he proves me wrong. He does still have all the opportunity in the world to finish top 100 as he is defending no points for the rest of the year, but he just wasted two weeks he could have gained big points. It's a tragedy.

Please, Dear Flyboy, dont throw yourself out of the window because of this TRAGEDY.....you have established yourself as a veritably fragile person here, cuttie.....every dog around is aware that loss of some mediocre bum from the hands of even bigger obscurity puts you on the brink of a suicide....just hold on, pumpkin, just hold on......

Re: Week 39: Cali, Colombia [Entry List]

Decoud d. Delgado 7-6(6) 4-6 6-0
Bagnis d. Gomez 7-5 6-1
Farah d. Yoo 6-4 4-6 7-6(5)
Dutra da Silva d. Kretschmer 6-3 7-5
Zampieri d. Hocevar 6-1 1-6 6-3
Ouelette d. Campozano 6-3 3-6 6-4
A.Gonzalez d. Daniel 7-6(5) 6-4
Galdon d. Hartfield 6-4 4-2 ret.
G.Lapentti d. Souza 6-3 6-0

Pretty disapointted with Joăo's result, I really thought he would go far again. Don't think being tired could be an excuse, and judging from the stats he pretty much gave up in the second. It happens anyway.

Marcos' loss was not to be expected, but you couldn't just eliminate any chances for Alejo, he is a good player and has surprised some favourites before. Great win for him.

Decoud beats Ramon again, Dutra da Silva keeps winning as much as he can and good for Caio in the Brazilian clash.

Pereira vs Salamanca starts now, let's see how the youngster does.
