Re: World Group 1R: India at Serbia (March 4-6, 2011)

so if serbia played under the name Yugoslavia and the tie was in Yug (the last time two teams have), does that mean that it would be the other country's turn to host serbia?

as for this tie, i believe that novak is missing this tie due to other tournys having a higher prefence at this time in the yaer however i feel that the rest of the serbian team are just playing well enough now to win the tie and advance to get a great tie between either russia or sweden.

serbia win 5-0

The last tie was on grass in India but Im not sure they count SRB ang YUG as the same team : the only srbske player in YUG team may have been Boban ( World #1 in Double in 1986) all others were croatians..

BTW, I checked and Boban won all three points in that tie.

I think that Serbia is counted as Yugoslavia even at history. I mean, taking care about ideologhy and social characteristics such as capital city, official languange, national colors, and so on, Serbia is the heir of Yugoslavia. is the same as Russia and URSS, and the same happends in all or most sports.

Djoko and Bhupathi/Paes won't play here.

Gah, I was waiting here for doubles Indo-Pak vs. Nenad and somebody to team in.

Re: World Group 1R: India at Serbia (March 4-6, 2011)

Such fantastic performance for India till now on clay and in Serbia: Bopanna taking Troicki to a 5th set and Devvarman trashing Tipsy . Tomorrow India are the favourites to take the doubles and taking a lead 2-1 on the 3rd day. Amazing
In the worst scenario for Serbia I doubt that India can win this tie though
