Simon could play, he just said he doesn't want to be a substitute

then it's a good opportunity for him as Tsonga is officially out because he still suffers from his hip and he thinks it's not good enough for 5-setters :

Is Melzer going to play the 3 points? Probably Knowle could have played doubles Marach and give Melzer the chance to play the two single points. Interesting tie

I think that Marach don´t will play with France on Davis Cup.

Kostas Kastoria is the King, is the Legend, is the Pantheon of Tennis Tipping.

Saulin, Felipin and Niltin are the players that have the mission to continue the Greek Legacy.

Now I see that they are going to play on clay . ^Probably somebody should remind Schaller that he is not the one that is going to play

Considering the team France will have, this was definitely the best choice : Llodra will be neutralized, and Fischer or even Koubek can create a surprise as none of the other French players are in-form (even Simon is not happy with his game currently, Chardy is out-of-form and Benneteau comes back from injury)

Fischer is better on clay.

I`m afraid not to agree with you on this one. Gasquet and Simon have a similar level on clay courts to Melzer and are superior to Fischer. (OK, Melzer had a fantastic clay court season last year but just check his former years and you will see that maybe was an exception to the rule as he had a fantastic performance overall in 2010 in hard courts too)
Melzer playing the two singles and the doubles match , Koubek is semi retired. Maybe Melzer-Knowle can have some chances against Llodra - Benneteau .

Maybe the indoor condition can help Melzer but overall is not a good panorama for the Austrians.
