Normal field for a 500 tournament. Dubai used to be a very strong tournament few years ago, almost all top10 played it. Not anymore.
I don't think that's true

If it is it's another stupid rule. (not about playing DC, but there's no link between the 2).

I think I was told so before I am not sure though but I think I read it even here on mtf in some thread.

When I'm good, I'm very good...but when I'm bad, I'm better

All players must make themselves available for at least two Davis Cup/Fed Cup ties (since the last Olympics) in order to be eligible for the Olympics. (One of those ties must be in the last two years before the upcoming Olympics.)

DC gives points but no money.

If playing 2 ties before the Olympics is the rule then Federer, if he wants to play in London olympic, would have to play DC at least 2 times before as Murray and all who normally don't play DC. No?

Re: 2011 World Group draw

Fed played DC in 2009 against Italy
He must play one tie this year or in 2012 to be eligible for the Olympics

The United States Tennis Association announced that the cities of Albany, NY, Austin, TX, and San Antonio, TX are the three finalists to host the quarterfinal.

Roddick’s hometown of Austin is the prohibitive favorite to win the bid. The deadline to submit the nomination to the ITF is March 21.

"I appreciate the USTA for even considering it. I think it’s been no secret that I have wanted it for a long time," said Roddick. "It would be a dream come true to play at home."

USA vs Spain will be held at Austin.

Sweden vs Serbia at Halmstad Arena (indoor hard).

Federer |Söderling |most of the Germans

I also like: Wawrinka | Tsonga | Dimitrov | Isner | Gulbis |

Warm regards: 6-3 6-0 / 6-3 6-4

Hey, my country beat Serbia one time. Actually, we beat them a lot of times. But I am still betting on Serbia on this one. They have a better winning history than Sweden.
