I have had an eye on his progress over the last 12 months or so, largely because of his age. He is the new Eschauer?
If he can win titles at challenger level, he can't be that bad a player. I'm guessing that his game isn't big, nor suited to grass?
Seems like his efforts to make top 120 have caught up with him though. Not had a particularly good last few months, so of course he will be in danger of sliding pretty quickly back down the rankings. Credit to him for battling as high up the rankings as he has, and MD entry will surely be a career highlight for him, and an opportunity to fly friends and family in for support.
Eschauer was a way better player.
Pospisil can't win matches on any surface other than clay. I give him credit for getting his ranking up that high, but he is truly terrible on grass.
In addition, he hasn't actually done that well in Challengers. He had a horrible year in 2010, so no points to defend, and then two good weeks in Morocco propelled his ranking upward. He hasn't managed to win more than two matches in a row on his favourite surface since.
Again, I'm not trying to take anything away from him, but he will be the player I want my favourites to draw. Congrats to him for the easy prize money and ranking points though.
