Is Murray favorite to make the quarters no matter the draw? Absolutely, but having a cakewalk early on certainly helps come quarters and onwards.
forgot about the points for a moment, sods gonna have to work hard to keep his ranking but as some others have said we don't know how murray is going to show up here he could even lose to robredo if he hasnt recovered from the ao loss.

Yeah. But it does make for some patriotic marquee matches. One of them, likely Roddick, will make it through.

Re: Main Draw

Seriously.

Davydenko's game gives him no time which is not what he needs.
Cilic's form is excellent atm.

Berdych's style of play is perfect for him.
Before the draw came out I hoped he would get Berdych in the 4R.

Re: Main Draw

I wonder how Djokovic could lose this tournament. Only chance is Nadal in final.
Ritchie has a real chance to beat Melzer, not bad Tsonga wil reach 4th round but has zero chance to reach QF. I'll go with Chardy too, he could reach 3rd round.

He lost the most times to Tomas, so no, you don't make sense, that can't be the easiest one. Kolya is not in form, Marin is on the up, but still not at his best. All three fairly difficult matches.

H2H doesnt tell you everything if you dont look at the location. 3 of them (paris, basel, dc) were on super fast surfaces. wawrinka is terrible on those. he'd probably lose to any top 50 who is decent indoors.

AO was when wawrinka's form was terrible.

davydenko will start finding range sooner or later, i'm inclined to think sooner. his game is the most dangerous for stan + it'll be his 1st match.

cilic's form is monstrous recently, even winning a TB against soderling ffs.

if wawa makes it to the 4th and plays berdych i am very certain he will win.

Re: Main Draw

obviously, nadal has a very easy draw until the semis, but as he will likely play a lot of clay court specialists, i see him struggle against murray (or, probably, del potro, but i don´t think so).

i see djokovic losing to mayer, but if he doesn´t, quite easy way to the semis.
melzer needed something like the simon-match, looking at the draw he has to feel like back to davis cup for the first rounds. if he prevails, he should have a chance vS roddick.

cilic should get past wawrinka and berdych as well, facing federer in the QF. raonic, if the can set up R4 against federer, will definitly not win, that´s for sure.

federer/djokovic and, respectively, nadal/murray in one half seems to be seeded. but hey, concerning the top guys, in the end it´s about winning exactly those matches. complaining about a more or less difficult way to get there for me makes no sense, because if you start frequently losing to - more or less tricky - guys in the first rounds, you are "not really" a top guy.
that´s what i think it is. complaining about the draw (all of that draw-discussion valid for the big tournaments only) makes sense for players ranked about 9 upwards. if you, for example, always have nadal in your section on clay, it´s not that funny, of course...
