Two Canadians granted wildcards
(Jul 17) TORONTO (CP) - Simon Larose of Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Que., and Frank Dancevic of Niagara Falls, Ont., have been granted wildcards for this month's 2002 Tennis Masters Canada.
Larose, the No. 2-ranked singles and doubles player in Canada, reached the doubles semifinal at the 2001 tournament with American Jan-Michael Gambill. He also played 2002 Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt in first round singles action last year, dropping a three-set decision.
Dancevic, the No. 3-ranked singles player in Canada, will make his first appearance in the main draw at the Tennis Masters Canada, July 27-Aug. 4.
