John's entered in Eastbourne and Wimbledon this grass season. With John's serve and excellent form, he should be very dangerous on grass. However, there is cause to temper our expectations this grass season. John is a relatively inexperienced grass player having only played six career matches on grass with a 1-5 record. He has a real opportunity to move up in the rankings though since he has no grass points to defend(due to his struggle with Mononucleosis last year). I think that one key to John's success this grass season will be to serve and volley more often. The low, skidding bounce will hurt his ability to set up for his big groundstrokes and will probably result in more unforced errors. With the added boost that the grass will give his serves, he should get fairly easy volleys if he follows his serve into net. I'm hoping that John is able to gain a lot of experience this grass season and continue to improve his grass court game. Once John gets more experience on grass, I believe that he will be one of the most dangerous grass court players in the world and should be able to make some deep runs into Wimbledon.

"Isner himself was spent after his satisfying performance in Europe. He returned after the French Open and spent a few days with his family in North Carolina before resuming training on a grass court at his home base, the Saddlebrook resort. He was originally scheduled to play this week in Eastbourne, but he decided to remain in the U.S. to train for Wimbledon."

Somewhat questionable decision to not play a warm-up event for Wimbledon, but understandable. Hope he can still make a good run at Wimbledon.

Re: Grass Season for ISNER!!

Meh, he was Eastbourne top seed as well. I expect he will be strong enough to get to round three at least at SW19, hopefully he can have a nice draw too.

I agree, but if he's clutch he'll win it.
