Re: Jerzy Janowicz cheering thread

Polish 24th seed Jerzy Janowicz fought off frustration with line calls, recovering from a two-sets-to-love deficit to clinch a 6-7(10), 3-6, 6-1, 6-0, 7-5 victory over Somdev Devvarman on Wednesday in Melbourne.

"What did I learn today? [That the] most important thing is you have to fight for every single ball till the end. I was losing already two-sets-to-love and I kept on fighting," said Janowicz, who came from two sets down to win for the first time in his career.

"You can't control your emotions all the time. Actually, I went nuts. I calmed down a little bit later on. Sometimes I have a problem with controlling my emotions, but I'm trying to work on this."

The 22 year old, who is contesting his first Australian Open, served for the match at 5-3 in the fifth set, but couldn't close it out. After converting his second match point, the powerful right-hander sank to his knees and later bowed to the vocal crowd multiple times, thanking them for their support. Janowicz placed 91 winners but also made 88 unforced errors.

Congrats Jerzy and
