Re: The 2009 Challenger Player of the Year [TBA]

So were the contenders decided on percentage?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Only four have been decided so far, and if you look at the W/L percentages, you will see that that was not the sole criterion, as De Bakker is not among the Top 10 for that.

Lorenzi with his 3 Wins and 3 Finals should be mentioned as well
though he hasn't too many big wins

always a coin toss with some players

Re: The 2009 Challenger Player of the Year [TBA]

Two more candidates to be chosen for the polls; anyone else can only be voted for in the 'Other' option.

The two remaining players will be chosen from this group:
  • Michael Russell
  • Xavier Malisse
  • Florian Mayer
  • Blaz Kavcic
  • Juan-Ignacio Chela
  • Paolo Lorenzi
  • Santiago Giraldo
  • Marcos Daniel
  • Maximo Gonzalez
  • Peter Luczak
Even though Marcos Baghdatis, Andreas Beck, Nicolas Lapentti, Kristof Vliegen, Potito Starace and Jarkko Nieminen did well in Challengers, they played six or fewer Challengers only, so should, in my opinion, be excluded from the competition. If you disagree, you can still vote for them in the 'Other' option.
