Re: Week 47: Puebla, Mexico [Main Draw]

Is Begemann tall with a good serve? I am asking because of his success in high altitude tournaments in the last few months (Bogoto, Quito, Medellin, Puebla) reminds me a little of results in the past by players like Dick Norman and Chris Guccione where the altitude helps the serve a lot. Although Begemann also did well in Florianopolis which is at sea level. Maybe he just launched his career in SA by chance.

TT Singles 2012: W: Winston-Salem SF: Honolulu CH, Rotterdam, Memphis, 's-Hertogenbosch, Wimbledon, Beijing, Vienna QF: Barcelona, Nice, Bastad, Petange CH, Bangkok R16: Monte Carlo, Madrid

I don't think that the altitude play's a great role. He's just a strong serve and volley player. If his first serve, by the way not the greatest but rock solid doesn't come he'll be in big trouble. But if his first come he plays very beautiful, good tennis at least for people who like the old-fashioned serve and volley style like me.

Re: Week 47: Puebla, Mexico [Final: Ramon Delgado vs. Andre Begemann]

I have seen BEGEMANN a couple of times on stream on clay in South America...
He is not so tall... He plays serve and volley, but is not the typical killer with 220 km/h serve - he plays more technically - with a lot of spin, the grand stokes has slow and more defensive - no winners from the base line at all... He reminds me Radek Stepanek, but ofcourse 2 classes lower... :-)
Anyway - these results in Puebla are fantastic - especially to beat Levine (who reached 3rd round US OPEN) 12-5 is amazing stuff...

CZECH IT OUT

ERNESTS GULBIS

...THE FUTURE NUMBER ONE!

I would say he's a bit like Zverev.

Good comparison. Zverev move's his feet better but their playing style is almost the same.
