It's pretty simple - most people find attacking tennis far more enjoyable to watch. It's amusing when fans of defensive players try to claim like they are master tacticians when it has nothing to do with whether you are an attacking or defensive player.
This is a very good point. One could argue it's that more difficult to try and press your opponent with aggressive tactics, trying to think and at the same time execute high-risk shots. This is what makes Federer great as well. His game nowadays is tactical aggression.
