this will become the mother of all sports quests in modern sports. it will be known going forward simply as "The Quest".

can he snatch a total of 100 titles before he hangs up his racquets? is that a viable goal for him to have?

and also what about 20 slams now that 17 are in the bag?

i know he wants slams but slams dont come easy after 30. he will be one of the exceptions obviously if it happens. where do you see his best chance at another slam? could it be on the u.s. open surface?

somebody won a french open at 31 for instance? what was his name? that is your question of the day. here is a hint: he was 6 foot 5 and he was a left hander.

muscles (rosewall) was making the finals of slams at some ridiculous old age. so if you have the talent and you can keep up on the fitness front you can certainly show up in the finals of slams.

One would hate to spoil everyone's fun but this thread was and is about the Quest to reach 100 titles and 20 Slams, not a prophecy..

Congratulations to Roger, the team for achieving the slam part of the quest.
Thanks to the many posters here and fans around the world for their undying support.

Thanks to General Clay Death who dared to set the goals of this quest so high for Roger, the numbers that have made it so challenging, that so few believed it would ever happen.

Well, you should know that Roger has always believed, even when it looked like it might not happen after being defeated in 3 finals between 2014-2015.

Major #20, Title #96. Stay healthy, happy, and motivated Maestro; your love and dedication to the sport is inspiring. 100 titles is in your reach.

The Quest is a dream, an impossible dream, to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far. To be willing to march into Hell for a heavenly cause. To beat the unbeatable foe, to right the unrightable wrong, To try when your arms are too weary, to run where the brave dare not go.

This is Roger Federer's Quest, a man not afraid of achieving the impossible dream.

And the world will be better for this. That one man, strove with his last ounce of courage, to reach the unreachable star.

Respectfully,
masterclass

That's a great call General Clay Death! 20 slams part is achieved. I think Fed has a great shot at 100 titles also!

The prophecy is being fulfilled!

Fact check me on this but this is pretty cool:

Federer has won Grand Slam title number 20 on the 28th of January 2018 or 28.01.18. 2+8+0+1+1+8=20.

He won his 18th GS on his 18th appearance (2000-2017) in an AO main draw, while being number 17 seed (same as Sampras when winning USO 02) and holding 17 GS in the year 2017.

He won 8 Wimbledon titles and frequently says he loves the number 8, and was born on the 8th of August. 8.8.1981. and his 19th GS on his 19th main draw appearance at Wimbledon(1999-2017).
