How is this possible? They should have been given a WC for this q-draw right?! Because they weren't on the original entry list. But it doesn't say they got a WC...

There are no qualifying entry lists for 250 (& lower) tournaments. Any player who isn't already on the entry list of an ATP or challenger tournament can sign in for qualifying spots.

Re: Qualifying Draw

Okay thanks. I knew there weren't quali lists for 250s, but thought that quali draws only existed of players that are alternates on the entry lists.

You see quite a few highgly ranked guys in quali tournaments who get a WC to enter, and then are topseed, why then? They don't need it in your explanation. I remember Tursunov in Zagreb last year, as an example.

Maybe in a 500 tournament if a player didn't enter by the deadline (& the tournament wouldn't give him a wild card for the main draw), he would get a wild card for the qualifying & thus become one of the top seeds, but in a 250 or lower tournament there are no qualifying entry lists, only sign-ins, so there's no way any player in the top fifty would need a wild card to enter.

Zagreb 2009? Tursunov did not receive a wild card:

Re: Qualifying Draw

Tursunov signed in for qualifying, but 489 wasn't high enough to get in.
