DY did win the first set 6-3, raising hopes of an end to his epic losing streak. Once he lost the second set 7-6, I figured he would fold as usual when the going gets tough. Bingo. Bagel.
Streak is now 16. Next week, I don't know if he'll plays qualies. If so, he won't qualify. Then Winston-Salem. Then US Open. By then the streak will be 18 or 19. Then back to Challengers. By year end, he'll be ranked 200, more or less. I don't know when (or if) he'll play another ATP match to continue the quest to break Spadea's record. If he languishes in Challengers, I won't be surprised if he retires by the end of 2013.
He'll be able to get DA to the 1st three tourneys after the US Open, then his Bangkok pts fall off. If he doesnt earn any pts between now & then he's gonna plummet in the rankings.
