Re: Tennis Austria

I'm a bit surprised there is no thread for Werner Eschauer

so I'm posting here the news that he might play the next two futures in Turkey (he is in the entry lists and have to play qualies). This year he played only one event, Croatia F5, won a match in singles and took the title in doubles with Wiltschnig. He is also playing the senior's ITF circuit.

It seems he is coaching the promising Slovenian player Aljaz Bedene.

Re: Tennis Austria

This week in the KEIO Challenger in Japan Philipp Oswald lost in the semi-final. Meanwhile Martin Fischer has reached the finals. He is playing a top Japanese player who is expected to win. Hopefully Martin can pull an upset. This would be wonderful for him

Re: Tennis Austria

Martin lost to Suzuki 4-6, 6-7 (5). For Suzuki it was his 16th Challenger win. This was the first time Martin had reached a challenger final and I think he can feel great about how well he did this week.

Sorry to say that Martin lost in the semi-finals to Ignak 6-2, 6-7 (4), 3-6.
This has been a good two weeks for him.

Re: Tennis Austria

Fischer L Becker 6-7, 4-6. I wanted him to make the main draw. Keep an eye on Fischer, I see potential here.

Anyone here knows something about Johannes Ager?

This guy has 12 wins and 0 losses this year, but he doesn't play to much...he defeated some Challenger level players like Alejandro Gonzalez, Galvani, Bautista-Agut or Haider-Maurer...

I really don't understand why he doesn't play more, he could be easy a Top 200 player if he plays 20 tournaments a year.

2010 - 3 tournaments (12-0)
2009 - 9 tournaments (26-5)
2008 - 5 tournaments (20-2)
2007 - 1 tournament (3-1)

Re: Tennis Austria

Julian Knowle is doing SO well at this Roland Garros!!! Some nice victories with Andy Ram to get to SF, hope they can win the SF tomorrow, as well as a wonderful run with Yaroslava Shvedova - what a wonderful partner to have! They beat Black and Paes and are in the Final tomorrow!!

Hopefully Julian can win his first Mixed Title!! This would be a nice addition to his pedigree. I still remember with fondness his and Simon's victory at the USO three years ago!

Re: Tennis Austria

Thomas Muster is returning to tennis after 11 years off the court. He's playing in a challenger in Germany.
