Re: Tennis Austria

Santoro def. Melzer 6-2 6-1 6-3

Jürgen is on a rough stretch currently and he didn't get good results since months already now. I hope he soon find a way to play better, the current results that he is producing may not satisfy him because they don't correspond to his ability.

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Tennis Austria

Stefan Koubek lost also

Serra won 6-1 6-4 4-6 6-4

From what I've seen on the scoreboard, he tried until the end, but it were too many deuces on his last service game at 4-5 and finally Serra took a match point and ended the match here. Too bad he couldn't get out of this situation :-( I had the feeling it could have still turned into his favour... oh, well...

I feel bad for both Jurgen and Stefan . Jurgen certainly is not playing up to his abilities. I read he is taking time off until the Davis Cup inorder to try and get back his competitive edge. He seems to have lost all confidence in his game. He plays agressive and needs to have confidence so all we can do is hope he comes back strong.

Stefan has had such a long lay off and without enough playing time, may have been his problem today. I did not follow his match closly.

Re: Tennis Austria

My care factor is quite low, over the Santoro match. We know how sneaky Fabrice can be as a player (though I think he's a jerk for playing challengers recently, LOL!) so the loss is not so surprising, although the scoreline is a bit of a worry. Better luck next time Jurgen! At least he doesn't have to play Federer now...although, playing Federer, he'd have nothing to lose

I'm still on a high from Oliver Marach winning Manerbio!!!

I guess you could say that by beating Santoro in doubles Jurgen got some revenge. Jurgen & Julian won 3-6, 7-6 (7-0), 6-4 over Santoro/Llorda.
I hope they can keep up there winning ways tomorrow against Hernych/Spadea. It is a winable match for J& J.

Re: Tennis Austria

It could not have been much closer but sad to say J & J were on the losing end of the doubles today. They lost to Hernych/Spadea 6-7(2), 6-4, 5-7.

Now it will be onto the Davis Cup where we can hope for winning results for Austria.

Lets hope they can do something there. I'm still glad that Germany and Austria were not drawn to play against each other, that would put me a bit into troubles

Re: Tennis Austria

Blah... I hate it when Jurgen has a bit of time off. I know he has to, but it almost feels like the world of Austrian tennis ceases to exist

Let's hope this break gets him going good again. He can do it.

Check the challengers because a lot of up and coming Austrians are doing well. Austrain tennis is alive and well and so is Jurgen. He will prove it again soon that he is a very good player. Go Jurgen. Do great in the Davis Cup? Show them all you can do it.

Re: Tennis Austria

Guys...
In a couple of weeks Oliver Marach will be launching his new website Will post the url when it's up.

So, we've got websites for Jürgen, Oliver and Marco.
Anything for Alex or Stefan? Any of the other more vague guys?

Congrats to Oliver. He is doing very well right now.

Jurgen dropped to 51 in the singles ranking and is 38 in doubles. Come on Jurgen get going and play great in the Davis Cup. Get your confidence back. We all believe in you.

Stefan dropped to 106, but won his first round in the China Open and next plays Moya who has been having problems with his back.

Have a good week all you Austrians who are playing. WIN!

Re: Tennis Austria

mmm I didn't realise how dodgy Jurgen had been until tonight, when I updated the Austrian site (the dodgy one in my signature, under Oliver). Many losses :-/ To good players, but..Jurgen is good too. Someone should tell him

Good that they have faith in Jurgen. He has to win a match sooner or later. Right?
