I was wondering why he would pull from Newport when that's a regular stop for him.

PAW 2013:
Munich - 2nd place
Halle - 4th place
's-Hertogenbosch - 4th place
GSTAAD - WINNER

He has had trouble with his shoulder before. According to his coach it is not serious.

I think they are making a good decisions when they do this so he can continue to play good tennis and not take a chance with his shoulder. He would have had a good chance in Newport as he always does well there.

Here is a quote from an article about it.

"it is nothing seriousness, but Juergen played very much last, therefore the left shoulder makes few problems" for him, so his coach Karl-Heinz weather. After the therapy the preparation begins on the tournaments in Stuttgart and Kitzbuehel for Melzer

That let's us all know how he is doing.

Re: Tennis Austria

Hey all

First I wanted to say that I'm very sorry for Stefan Koubek ...
It must be hard to trie to win as hard as you can and you always lose ...
I'm feeling very sorry for him ... don't you think he is treated very hard ... *sigh* ...
I hope he won't lose a lot of selfconfidence ...

Let's change the topic ...
Maybe you all know the following photos ... they are from Halle (Gerry Weber Open) ...
I know them some time ago - but I didn't find time to post them here ...
They are from Jürgen's official site ... enjoy them ...

Some comments to the photos: I really liked his hair much more when it was longer ...

Jürgen is now number 37 in the entry ranking list ...
This week he would have to defend a lot of points ...
That's bad luck that he can't play this week in Newport ... let's hope he'll do better in Stuttgart - and especially in Kitzbühel ...
Question - what do you think ... will Jürgen this year be better in Kitzbühel ...
Let's pray for it, because if he won't be better I think he maybe won't play the next year there ...

Woooow ... that was a long post ...

Re: Tennis Austria

Those pictures are very nice. You can see how short his hair is. I hope he lets it grow back out again.

Stefan is having such a rough year you just have to feel sorry for him. He is trying hard and really works at getting better. I feel good things will start to happen for him soon.

Now after not playing in Newport this week which I feel was a smart decision, Jurgen has to do well in Stuttgart and Kitzbuhel. He has never won a match in Kitzbuhel and always says he does not like the bounce on those courts. Let's hope this year he does very well there and makes us all happy, expecially himself.

Good luck to Jurgen in the coming weeks.

Re: Tennis Austria

I think Jürgen should get over it (Kitzbühel), and just kick ass like he's capable... OR ALTERNATIVELY... buy them some new courts to his liking ! lol... then everyone would win (except his bank account!! )

Re: Tennis Austria

But I think he will make himself a lot of pressure ...
He wants to do well there ... that's understandable ...
I hope he will do well !!!

Let's hope he won't lose a lot of points this week ...
It's his decision if he plays or not ... and if he thinks it's better no to play Newport ... he's right ...

Wish you all a nice day ...

I am sure all Jurgen's fans want to express the same feelings. It is a sad time in the world for London now.
