Re: Tennis Austria

I will have to learn what that means.

Jurgen/Alex won their first round doubles. I am very happy

Re: Tennis Austria

So Melzer, Gruber and Peya are playing it would be great if the three of them could win, but I doubt it though.

Thumbs up Re: Tennis Austria

I read that Jurgen thought it was a smart move by Rainer to go to the bathroom and that it won the match for him. Darn. Jurgen hurt his shoulder again. He hopes the can work on getting it fixed this winter, but he will still play some more tournaments this year. His coach felt he actually tried to hard to win and that caused stress on the shoulder. I feel so sad for him.

Yes, Alex won. I got home for lunch and watched him win the last three games. His backhand is so wonderful. Alex plays Davide Sanguinetti tomorrow. He has lost to him in there previous meetings.

Re: Tennis Austria

Well, this was a tricky match: I'm glad for Rainer that he won it, but I'm also unhappy about Jürgen that he lost it in front of his own crowd.

Jürgen's shoulder is an own story this season since May already I think. After the season he can get some rest for it and do some weight training to stabalize it. Maybe it's getting better then.

I didn't see it myself, but I read that Rainer got a very important wrong call. A ball that caught the line was given out but the line umpire. And that was at break point!
Well, Rainer seemed to need everything to finall break his "1st round loss curse"

Better luck for Jürgen next time (and please not again against one of my favs so early then )

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Tennis Austria

So today big big cheering day again!

Sad that Juli also lost yesterday. They were fighting hard, but it wasn't enough.

Re: Tennis Austria

Just a short note to say I've added a photo of Jurgen and Nenad to the yahoo photo group. I would have added it to the msn group, but it's almost 200 kb. huge

It's in the Aus Open > 2004 album.

I'll get around to scanning my other photos eventually, but this one (well, two pics really) was one of the better ones, so it got priority (9 months after I took it ) You'll have to view it in full size

Bye for now!
Kristen.

Re: Tennis Austria

Stefan lost.

He played totally bad in first (seemed as if he wasn't really on the court ... ), but he has deserved a third set!!! Second one was fantastic, especially in the end!! But it wasn't enough ...

So all the hope on Alex now!!! But he just lost first set 5:7.

But still: AUF GEHTS ALEX AUF GEHTS!!!

Re: Tennis Austria

NOOOOOO!!! Alex lost.

What a bad day.

Now all the Austrian hope is left for Jürgen and Alex in doubles ...

Edit: Jürgen's shoulder injury doesn't allow him to play tomorrow. So all the Austrians are out.

Re: Tennis Austria

Congratulations El Fashionista, yes for the people who don't know that is Stefan Koubek for beating Gaston Gaudio 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 to make the quarter finals.

Stefan started very well and has been playing fairly well lately and that told in his match against Gaston who lacked match practice, but when it came down to the vital 3-3 game in the 3rd. Stefan saved break points and then broke Gaston's serve and held on from there.

Now he plays the winner of Ljubicic or Haehnel in the quarters.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
