Younes beat L.Mayer in the first round of qualifying to Roland Garros. 6-3 7-6. He seemed to serve very well.

Next match tomorrow against Stakhovsky. I think Younes will win it.

Re: Younès El Aynaoui's fan thread

great career Younes. We enjoyed wonderful moments thanks to you.
Bad luck against Stakhovsky: 6-4 4-6 6-4.
Younes has still a very repectable level but I think it's time he ends his career.
So many great memories: Becker- El Aynaoui (barcelona olympics 1992)- gold medal in mediterranean games 1993- 4 grand slam quarter finals ( Aus Open 2000-2003 and Us Open 2002-2003), 2 last 16 in the French (1995-2000), 1/2 final in AMS Madrid in 2003- 1/4 in AMS Miami 2003- 5 ATP titles (Amsterdam 1999- Bucarest 2001- Doha 2002- Casablanca 2002- Munich 2002), 14 challenger titles and 7 in one year (1998), great wins in Davis Cup world group against Spain in 2002 (beats Corretja and Ferrero on clay in Spain !), and of course the magical marathon match against Roddick in Aus Open 2003: 21-19 in the fifth for Andy! and so many more memories such as finals in Casablanca 1994- Amsterdam 1996- Jakarta 1996- Doha 1996- Montevideo 1998- Bogota 2000- Lyon 2001- Dubai 2002- Casablanca 2003 and so on...
Thank you Younes !

Disappointing loss. Is he going to play any challenger matches now and maybe qualify for Wimbledon?

Re: Younès El Aynaoui's fan thread

he is playing this week a challenger in germany , and next week in italy ... he said that he is not going to retire still he can win some matchs i thinks he s a great exemple he won Marrakech challenger , final napoli chanllenger against potito starace . in Dubai he lost against davidenko 6-7 7-6 7-6 , won Danemark with morroco davis cup so why retiring if he can give us other great moments . it's sure that he cant win a Gran slam tournament but he can be the oldest player who plays on the atp tour good luck younes youre not die

Younes was today with the NT in Davis Cup meeting with Slovenia.
Dont know if he played, watched only Chaki-Gregorc.

Re: Younès El Aynaoui's fan thread

Younes did not play a single match in 2008. He's ranked 180 in the entry rankings. He is the 2nd alternate in the Dubai qualifying draw. I think he'll play the qualifying there. Good luck to him.

Re: Younès El Aynaoui's fan thread

Younes is playing Spain F11 qualifying this weekend. He still has a decent ranking, but was a late commitment.

Again he is coming back and not playing in his home country (it happened last year, if you recall)
