Re: Andyoni !!

Playing together in Eastbourne this week; they play the #2 seeds this week near the bottom of the draw. Unless they start to win over some big name doubles team I don't have high hopes for Wimbly.

Re: Andyoni !!

Great news for them; from the ATP:

DOUBLES NEWS 2011
Erlich/Ram Reach First Final Since 2008
ATP World Tour 2011 Season: Week 24

by ATP Staff
|

16.06.2011

Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram will compete for a third AEGON International title after prevailing against third-seeded Brazilians Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares 6-3, 6-7(7), 13-11 on Thursday in Eastbourne.

The Israeli duo won back-to-back titles at this ATP World Tour 250 tournament in 2005-06 when the tournament was held in Nottingham.

Erlich and Ram, a former Top 10 doubles team, will be contesting their first tour-level final since a runner-up finish in 2008 at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati. They won the Australian Open and Indian Wells titles that year, but did not team together in 2009 with Erlich sidelined with an elbow injury.

They will face Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and Italian Andreas Seppi in the final after the new pairing ousted British wild cards Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins 7-5, 7-6(5). Fleming and Hutchins had defeated Julian Knowle and Andre Sa 4-6, 7-5, 12-10 in their quarter-final match earlier in the day.

Re: Andyoni !!

Oh such a draw for Wimbly; their fav tournie I believe. Well if they want to get back to being in the top they have to start somewhere and beat the big guys.

Re: Andyoni !!

Which they didn't do; did better in the mixed. Thank god for ESPN3 and replays

Playing in Newport this week; I have the weekend off so just maybe I will head down depending on who is still there near the end of the week. A little birdie told me tickets are easy to get

Re: Andyoni !!

Well one day they were in the draw and the next not; I guess they opted not to "attend". I have to say they have not played all that much together and when they do they lose most of the time. You'd think that a tournie like this that plays like a challenger would be useful for them. Hope nothing is wrong overall.

Re: Andyoni !!

Ram and Erlich, the second seed in PTT, are the last pair to pass the first round with 6-3 6-2
the israeli pair has a nice history in this tournament: they won the tournament in 2003 (first apperiance) and in 2006 (def. Murray's brothers) and were runner up in 2005 (l. Hanley and Paes)
next round they'll play Kohlman and Waske

FITD :
winner: Munich 2012
Runner Up:Doha 2011, Los Angeles 2011, Munich 2011, Kuala Lumpur 2012
Rank: 53

TT Doubles :
winner: Fergana CH 2011, Ostrava CH 2015(w/ KittyTennis) , Marbella CH(w/Tal20)
