And they are still funny.
"The doubles team of Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich are the #2 seed in The Tennis Channel Open this week. They'll be blogging from Vegas on their experiences in Sin City.
Jonathan: The week started off on the wrong foot with a nightmare flight into town. We arrived at 1am Saturday after several delays, a cancellation and a whole lot of turbulence.
Andy: But they say in order to get to heaven, you have to have experiences like that horrible day of travel. Now that we're safely here, we have some big expectations.
Jonathan: This is our first time in Vegas and we're quite impressed with the size of these hotels and all the neon lights. You don't see anything like this on too many tour stops.
Andy: Not to mention the women. At the player party last night it was unbelievable. Every bartender was better looking than the last. We are both traveling with our wives, but even our wives were impressed with the Vegas women.
Jonathan: Our wives our bigger gamblers than us. They enjoy losing our money more than we do.
Andy: It's safer than letting them go off shopping by themselves. At least we keep an eye on them and see every dollar they lose as opposed to shopping when they're on their own.
Jonathan: Didn't you lose $100 playing blackjack last night?
Andy: Yeah, I have to win that back before I leave.
Jonathan: But one thing we are going to do before we take off is to grab a bite on top of the stratosphere
Andy: Yeah, you always see it on TV and in the views of the strip, and I've always wanted to go to that place, so that's definitely something we're going to get in this week. I also want to see [Cirque du Sole's] O and Celine Dion.
Jonathan: That's the thing about a place like Vegas - everything is good. No matter what you do or how you choose to relax, you know you're going to have fun.
Andy: But we are focused on tennis and winning the tournament. I mean, this is a great city but we did come here to win and that's our goal, to win the Tennis Channel Open this week.
Jonathan: We know we have a tough challenge with the Bryan brothers back to defend the title they won last year, and with how good they're playing on the court right now.
Andy: Maybe it's a good thing that they're seeded number one and we're seeded two. We've been the top seed three times this year and lost, so maybe this will be a nice change for us and we'll win as the two seed. Maybe the [predicted rain Tuesday] will help us out.
Jonathan: We know we're not going to play our best tennis if the weather's poor, but that's something we can't control.
Andy: It actually fits our game fine, to have the bad weather.
Jonathan: It's true. But if we do make it to the final and they're waiting there for us I look forward to the challenge. We've played them nine times before and I think we go into a match like that with confidence that we know what it takes to win against them and also the respect that you have for great champions who always compete.
And as an aside- good luck getting to the stratosphere. Very cool place
