Gilles Muller

I thought it's strange that Gilles hasn't a thread for himself, so I created one for him He played great yesterday to beat Nadal! I really was surprised, although I know Nadal is not as good on grass as on clay... Now he has to play against Gasquet, good luck Gilles!!

Jarkko Nieminen > Janko Tipsarevic > Mario Ancic > Gilles Muller > Marco Chiudinelli > David Nalbandian

Re: Gilles Muller

I like Gilles but I must say the older he gets the more awkward he looks. He's so stiff out there, it's amazing he manages to move.

but good luck Gilles nice to see a former #1 junior finally having some success.

Re: Gilles Muller

I would like to know, being from Luxembourg, what is Gilles' mother tongue? His name is French name but it doesn't mean anything (look at Xavier Malisse for exemple who has a French name and a French surname but who speaks Flemish...) so... Does Luxembourgish or German is the most natural langage to speak for him?

Re: Gilles Muller

his name would rather be German and it does have a meaning then. his mother tongue is Luxembourgish which sounds a bit like German but also has some words from French! but he also fluently speaks French and German. And English I guess :P
I hope my answer has been clear enough it's quite complicated here in Luxembourg I know

Aaah... Thanks! Your answer is pretty clear. Don't worry. I was talking about is firstname Gilles but of course Müller is definitely German (Does it take the 'umlaut' btw?...). So his mother tongue is Luxembourgish. Great! Another multilingual player on the tour!
