Re: Bedene Brothers (SLO) - Aljaž and Andraž

Aljaz Bedene is out for the rest of the year. He will use protected ranking and come back for AO qualies (supposedly).

Re: Bedene Brothers (SLO) - Aljaž and Andraž

Obviously Aljaž is going great guns at the moment, winning Barletta CH, SF is Blumenau and now doing well in Santos.

But what happened to Andraž?

He hasn't played a singles match since last August and last played doubles with Aljaž in Barletta.

Re: Bedene Brothers (SLO) - Aljaž and Andraž

I'd say that after 2 years of playing futures tournaments and not really breaking out of playing qualies he realized that professional tennis might not be the right way for him.

Aljaz retired yesterday after the first set due to dizziness.

His next tournament will be Roland Garros - perhaps a bit too long pause

Re: Bedene Brothers (SLO) - Aljaž and Andraž

I guess it was heat exhaustion, they were saying the conditions in Santos were pretty brutal.

RG quallies would be about 3 weeks I guess, so bit of a gap.

Re: Bedene Brothers (SLO) - Aljaž and Andraž

Aljaz Bedene is injured again and hasn't played since coming back from Brazil in April. Apparently he'll be back for the Davis Cup tie against Italy. It's the same wrist that bothered him the last time when he needed to undergo a surgery.

Andraz Bedene reached the semis of a 10k in Serbia last week and retired in the semifinal - also due to wrist injury... Will take a few weeks off.

What a bad luck. Aljaz some years ago has got a problem with wrist like you wrote, but i'm really hoping that's ok now. I heard Aljaz is practicing now and everything is ok with his wrist.

I hope that he will be back to Challengers, because he is so very good player!

Re: Bedene Brothers (SLO) - Aljaž and Andraž

Who is practising and is okay, Aljaz or Andraz?

I see Aljaz in the DC team for this weekend, but I don't see him in any entry lists in the weeks after...

Aljaz is relatively OK now and is in the team, but not really expected to play. He'll next play in Umag ATP at the end of July.
