Re: Blaz Kavcic Thread

Won the final - Quite impressive few weeks for Blaz

I think he doesn't have many points to defend until the end of the year, meaning that he has almost secured a MD spot in Melbourne next year.

Re: Blaz Kavcic Thread

His back is hurting him a bit, probably should take a week off. No more clay events for him now, as Voinea wants him to get better on the hardcourts.

I think if he gets one more decent result he should be in direct for Melbourne.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Blaz Kavcic Thread

Very nice. This is definitely a good sign after a relatively disappointing year (minus a few highlights.) Next year he'll have plenty of time to compete at the lower level ATP tournaments.

If at first you don't succeed, lower your standards.

Re: Blaz Kavcic Thread

The pain in Kavcic's leg is quite strong and the doctors sad he should rest for 2 weeks.

According to his calendar he's only going to play 2 more tournaments. Or is he going to add a few more?

Blaz is back and won 6-4 6-4 over Begemann in Eckental.

I know this is a little bit off topic but yesterday I had honor to meet Blaž Kavčič. And I have to say if I was his fan before, right now I'm his number 1 fan. We actually meet because of my study. I study journalism and had to made an interview. And because I'm fan of tennis of course I tried to contact him. I thought he would say that he wouldn't have time or something but he answered to my message after 3 hours and gave me even his phone number to contact him later. Of course I did and we texted like we are friends. I really didn't expect he is so down to earth, so friendly, so talktive etc. I really can say only good things about him. He even wanted to paid drink but I somehow conviced him not to do this because after all he helped me a lot even though he didn't had to. I also contact one of Slovenian tennis sites and they will (maybe) publish this interview. He is really really cool person.

I don't know why I actually write this but it was really so exciting to meet him. He even said if I would ever need anything similar just to call him. Amazing person he is!

I'm sorry I had to share this here.

Well done igra, good to hear that Blaž was really cool with you and lets hope he can manage the schedule well in 2011, and keep on improving.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

He won! Pretty comprehensive, 6-3 6-2, and he'll play Kendrick next.

Excellent win for Blaz, never a bad day when Chardy loses.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Blaž won 2 and 2. Easy. Now against Berdych, great result already though.

Re: Blaz Kavcic Thread

He will learn a lot from the match against Berdych and how far behind that level he is at the moment.

Good momentum for the Aus Open qualies.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
