Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread

Blaž has been back doing full training for a week, should be ready to go for Australia.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Not having anything to say really. Just checking if default thread subscription works now.

EDIT: It does!

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

He needs to win the crown.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread

Defeated Alves 6-3 6-4 and also won the doubles crown with Veic. He will play Bolelli in the final. Bolelli is the slight favourite.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread

Blaz goes down 6-3 6-4 to Bolelli. Not sure how he will back up in Santiago after a tough week here. The draw has been kind with Blaz receiving a qualifier in the first round.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread

He got plenty of matches this week, wasn't his best tennis but he kept fighting hard.

Just hope he makes RG direct.

Blaž turns 25 today. Happy birthday!

Watched a few matches from Brazil, can't say he's playing well, but at least it's enough to get him some wins at this level.

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread

Lost a tough four hour match against Leonardo Kirche in the first round of Santiago. Blaz had a few opportunities to win it but wasn't able to clinch the victory. He won't be playing doubles in Santiago so he will now be off to Morocco for the Rabat Challenger next week.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread

It will be good he can get home for a few days then on the way back.

Very disappointing to lose when the opportunity for a deep run was very available with the draw he had. Now he'll have a few days of rest and hopefully he does better in these upcoming Moroccan challengers. He defends 36 points until the French Open cutoff so he has every opportunity to make the RG MD direct and reestablish himself in the top 100. Hopefully he achieves that with a good run in the next couple events!

Re: Blaž Kavčič Thread

Blaz withdrew from Rabat but is in the Marrakech MD this week in Morocco. He won his first round match 6-2 6-1 over Joao Sousa and plays the winner of Victor Crivoi and Bastian Knittel in R2.

Hopefully he can make a run here and get back in a position to make the French Open direct.
