Re: Paris Gemouchidis

Lost in the first round of Morocco F4 but reached the doubles SF
Also this week he's at a new CHR of #584 . Also he's the new Greek #1

Marcos Baghdatis Forever!

Through the good and the bad, always my #1, no matter what the rankings say

Re: Paris Gemouchidis

Morocco F5:
R1: (2) Vasiliev RUS d. Gemouchidis GRE 6-2 3-6 6-2
Doubles SF here

*He was then on the Davis Cup team, but didn’t play at all. I’m sure he was upset about that

Romania F6:
R1: (6) Gemouchidis GRE d. Eros ISR 7-6 6-3
R2: (6) Gemouchidis GRE d. (LL) Escoffier FRA 3-6 6-2 6-1
QF: (Q) Salaba CZE d. (6) Gemouchidis GRE 7-5 6-0
Doubles title here

Turkey F20:
R1: (8) Gemouchidis GRE d. (Q) Nazir EGY 6-1 6-2
R2: Eremin ITA d. (8) Gemouchidis GRE 6-3 6-4
But won the doubles title again
Now #502 in doubles, a new career-high for him

Re: Paris Gemouchidis

Hasn't played since July 2012. Ended his career with on a huge winning streak in doubles (4 futures titles in a row)

He probably was fed up with his results and now he coaches in Athens. Too bad he didn't pursue a career in doubles because he was ranked in the 300s for doubles when he quit. He's still 26 though which is young for doubles so maybe he will come back even if its unlikely, stranger things have happened.
