Re: soderling

ROBIN!

In Sunday’s final Llodra will face Swede Robin Soderling, who took just 50 minutes to oust Frenchman Gilles Simon 6-2, 6-1. Llodra and Soderling will be facing off for the first time.

Soderling converted on all five of his break point opportunities, while dropping just seven points on serve throughout the match to improve his lifetime record against Simon to 2-1. He also snapped his six match losing streak in ATP semifinals.

The 23-year-old will be appearing in his sixth career ATP final and his first since Memphis two years ago. He has a 2-3 record in ATP finals, titling in 2004 at Lyon and in 2005 at Milan.

Soderling reached the Marseille quarterfinals last week in his first event of the 2008 season. It marked his first tournament in six months - he retired from his first match at the Rogers Masters in Canada last August due to a left wrist injury - during which time his ranking slipped from No. 28 to No. 59 this week, his lowest since April 2006.

Simon, currently ranked No. 36, was looking to reach his fourth career ATP final. He now has a 5-5 record for the season, with one of his wins coming against World No. 3 Novak Djokovic last week en route to the Marseille quarterfinals.

Re: soderling

Hands up those who thought "crap. 6 all in the third, Llodra will win". Or am I the only one who panics whenever a Swedish guy gets into a tiebreak?

Nice return from injury though

I don't stay up all night to watch scoreboards.
But I do take an interest in tennis regularly.

Now im a bit more human and realise i need more than 3 hours sleep a night
